With the title «Fascínios da Forma e Sortilégios da Cor», it opens on April 20, Thursday, At 6 pm, in the Gallery of the Centro Portugués de Seriografia at the Centro Cultural de Belém, an exhibition of recent silkscreen prints and original sculptures by the artist < strong>João Galrão. 

Multidisciplinary visual artist, whose work also extends to the world of art. photography, installation and performance, João Galrão has been exhibiting since 1996 in Portugal and in countries such as France and Spain.

In the present exhibition, both in the latest silkscreens published by the CPS and in the set of sculptures, the artist explores three-dimensionality by developing his grammar which, according to historian and curator Rui Afonso Santos, < em>“merges the limits of sculpture with those of painting, which seems to free itself and emerge out of the support.” 

If in the first works we clearly see a celebration of pop culture, using a more psychedelic language, in the more recent works, “drawing with X-Ato, João Galrão meticulously cuts drawings simulating interior views. These utopian interiors are the imaginary and dreamed space of our confinement, observing and reflecting the world through, and beyond, the window. ”, adds the historian.
