Solidarity Exhibition with the Amigas do Peito Association
The CPS - Portuguese Screen Printing Center at the invitation of the Embassy of Cape Verde and the CCCV – Centro Cultural de Cabo Verde, in partnership with CHULN - Centro Hospitalar Universitário Lisboa Norte, brings to Hospital de Sta. Maria a set of works by 20 artists, in an exhibition entitled “Art is good for the world’ Health”, whose objective is help the Associação Amigas do Peito, humanitarian association supporting the woman with breast cancer.
In this sense,20% of sales and registration fees for new CPS Members go back to the Association.
With a predominance of female artists, the works on display testify to the editorial eclecticism of the CPS. Celebrated asCruzeiro Seixas, Júlio Pomar, José de Guimarães, Sofia Areal, Graça Pereira Coutinho, Cristina Ataíde or Gracinda Candeias, coexist with different generations of artists. Highlight is a group from Cape Verde,Manuel Figueira, Tchalé Figueiraand Francisco Vidalin dialogue with other authors from Portuguese-speaking countries, Roberto Chichorro(Moçambique),Moacute ;nica de Miranda (Angola), Januário Jano (Angola) and Patrícia Magano (Brazil).
