The Jerónimos, an iconic work of the Manueline style where Gothic and Renaissance elements intersect, stood out to the artist as one of the wonders of our architecture, symbolizing the source of inspiration from the divine for precarious human existence. The artist's representation highlights the majesty and purity of the forms under the sign of verticality that the trees in the foreground accentuate, of whiteness and light. Under the effect of this transfiguring light, the stone becomes spiritualized, stylized, approaches blue, the forms unite with the light; color that in its magical opacity acquires a kind of transparency, in a true ritual of shared asceticism, which affirms the lan towards the divine.
