Special Edition 35 years CPS / Centenary of Amália Rodrigues
Critical notes
Amália Rodrigues is part of the Gallery of the most emblematic figures of the Portuguese 20th century and is part of the gallery. is at the origin, like other great personalities of our artistic panorama, of a vast iconography, now enriched with a new repertoire of images, in celebration of the centenary of his birth. A whole celebration, which the Centro Portugu&escirc; ;O. Domingos Mateus decided to pay homage to the incomparable interpreter of the national soul, based on her well-known Fado “Havemos de Ir a Viana”, with music by Alain Oulman and lyrics by Pedro Homem de Melo. In the detail of the lyrical and poetic language to which we have become accustomed, between reality, poetry and symbol, we see the emergence of shapes and colors that evoke the popular imagination, of festivals and festivals, anchors, ships, Galos de Barcelos, dressed in the colors of dream and fantasy, blue and gold, so characteristic of the author's painting.
