RESTEST WRITING
Alexandra Mesquita is author of a dizzying adventure that is organized by; It comes back to a major question about writing, represented in an exhibition of his in 2002, significantly titled “Restless Writing”. In 1997 he produced an installation with the brain as its central motif, a metaphor (recovered in another exhibition in 2005) connoting the particular dreamlike discursivity that is the brain. Its a very unique way of questioning the rationality of the West. In the current silkscreen on a mirror where we can see ourselves, the head and the brain suggest the ontological importance of the voice, the thread of a discourse capable of facing the obstacles to a liberating thought, in a civilization ;the castrator and linked to the tyranny of appearances.
