Ivan Messac

Born in Caen, France in 1948. From 1969 to 1983 he participated in numerous and important artistic manifestations, as a painter: Mythologies Quotidiennes at the Muse d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris; Le Salon de la Jeune Peinture, The Paris Biennale, Sigma de Bordeaux, etc.; Creates sets and costumes for Es, a choreography by Michel Descombey based on a song by Stockhausen, at the Théâtre de la Ville and founds the magazine Le Grand Huit with Marc Villard, Olivier Kaeppelin, Dominique Labarrière and Jacques Villecrose.

He participated in numerous and important artistic manifestations, being a central figure in the international Narrative Figuration Movement.

You are here. represented in galleries and museums around the world, with emphasis on France, Germany, Ireland, Spain and Italy. His first sculptures date back to 1983. He created several public works, including: sculpture at the Parc de Sculptures de Saint Sébastien sur Loire, France; sculpture at Place Maurice Quentin, Paris, France; sculpture in the Parc de la Nature de Laval, Quebec, Canada; Eloge, sculpture, installed at Carcassonne airport, France; Le Dialogue d'Archimède, sculpture for the EDF Cap Ampère headquarters in Saint Denis, France; Venus blanche, sculpture for the RIVP facade of the node 44/46 Boulevard de Grenelle, Paris, France.

His work is represented in numerous public and private collections. He currently lives and works in Paris.
