Círia

José Manuel Círia was born in 1960 in the English city of Manchester. His appearance on the artistic scene took place in the mid-eighties and, especially during the nineties, he began to reveal solid artistic maturity.

With an early international recognition that was revealed in 1992 by awarding prizes in several Spanish cities, Ciria has since held numerous group and individual exhibitions, as well as the publication of various texts, books and monographic catalogues that discuss his work.

It was the artist himself, in 1996, who defined five fundamental points for the exercise of artistic doctrine: historical knowledge, assimilation of tradition, constant search for innovation, personal experience and, finally, his own personal artistic practice.
