Graça Pereira Coutinho who was born in Lisbon in 1949, attended the sculpture course at ESBAL between 1966 and 1971, the year in which she began residing in London, the city where she continues to live today, having there completed (1974 and 1977) the postgraduate course at St. Martins School of Art. Since the 1970s, the artist has established herself as one of the most interesting names of her generation; in the various expressions to which he dedicated himself: painting, sculpture, photography and installation. His works compose a semi-abstract space in the game of “broken” due to the telleric effect of handwriting overlapping writing that becomes illegible. As if we were facing a scene where the gesture that expresses writing is the true protagonist.
