Mimi Tavares was born in 1962. She took an Illustration course with the painter Maria Keil, in 1982. degree in Painting from E.S.B.A.L. in 1988 and has taught Painting at Arte Ilimitada since 2003.

He has exhibited individually since 1985, with his first exhibition Pintura, at E.S.B.A.L., in Lisbon. Of the various solo exhibitions that have already been held. accomplished, we highlight his passage to galleries such as Galeria de S. Bento (Lisbon), Galeria Monumental (Lisbon), Galeria Paula Fampa (Braga) and  Joséé Malhoa, (Caldas da Rainha). It also includes participation in several collective exhibitions, in Portugal and abroad.

His works are represented in important art collections such as For example, theCaixa Geral de Depósitos, the Collection of the Directorate-General for Cultural Heritage (Ministry of Culture of Portugal) and  Fundação Antônio Prates.
