Born in Lisbon in 1943. He completed the ceramics course at IADE (1973-1976). Attended the studio of sculpture at ARCO in 1978/1979. Scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in 1991. Work subsidy at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in 1996 for exhibition at the Museum of Ancient Art: “Dimensions – Of the Life of the Earth” in 1999. Guest professor at the Department of Ceramics at AR.CO 1991/95. International Prize for Contemporary Art in Monte Carlo, Monaco. You are represented in several Museums and private collections.

In 2017, he held an important retrospective exhibition covering 40 years of work, at the Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes, in Lisbon, curated by Manuel Costa Cabral.
