Júlio Pomar

Born in 1926. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon and Porto. He was one of the most notable Portuguese visual artists of the 2nd century. half of the century. XX.

 In his work, a plenitude of styles of great plastic and humanistic richness coexist. He held exhibitions in important international cities such as Paris, Brussels, Lisbon, Beijing and Macau. In the 90s he held a traveling exhibition in S. Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Brasilia.

 His work has been recognized through tributes, awards and retrospective exhibitions. He lived and worked mainly in Lisbon, the city that hosted his Atelier-Museum in 2013, a space for promoting the artist's work and for cultural meetings.

He passed away in May 2018.
