Joana Ramalho

1990 Lisbon, Portugal.
Painting and Drawing Course at Ar.Co (2010). Attendance at the Fine Arts Degree at the Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies, Lisbon. Postgraduate in Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon (2017). His periods of internment were supported by books of poetry and were the starting point for the work he develops today. His specialization is in the areas of Painting, Drawing and a special interest in calligraphy.
He has participated in several group exhibitions, such as “There´ love, just there are proofs of love”, Centro Cultural de Belém, Lisbon (2015), “12x12”, Galeria Arte Graça, Lisbon, December (2019), Poster Mostra Pública Marvila, Lisbon (2020), at Feira international exhibition of Brute Art Outsider Art Fair, New York (2020) and the exhibition “Incómodo” (2020) at the Municipal Museum of Faro. He had his first solo exhibition “Em Suspenso”, at 86 Cocktail Bar in Lisbon (2019). Joana is resident artist at Manicómio, the first creation space and gallery of Art Brut in Portugal, with resident artists who have experienced or are experiencing mental illness.
