Fátima Fernandes

Fátima Fernandes was born in Bemposta Mogadouro in 1961.

Studies at the Escola Superior de Belas Artes do Porto where he completes the Architecture course (1979–1986). In 1984 she completed an internship in Italy, accompanied by prof. Arch. Manuel Mendes.

Between 1990 and 1992 is Architect Responsible for the Support Office for the Historic Center of Miranda do Douro.

É Professor of the Architecture Section at the Escola Superior Artística do Porto. ESAP, since 1996 and Director of its Architecture Department, since 2013.

Fátima Fernandes founded, in 2000, Cannatá & Fernandes architects Ldawith Michele Cannatà with whom he has worked together since 1984, developing professional activity in Portugal and Italy. Responsible for the scientific coordination of Concreta's architectural events – Exponor (since 1999), for the scientific coordination of the Department of Architecture of Edições ASA (1993) and for the scientific coordination of the Department of Architecture of Ediçde;es Civilizaç ;o (since 2004).

His works and projects were present in several individual and group exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale in 1996 and the Milan Triennale in 1997.

The atelier develops projects in the areas of architecture, planning and urbanism, design, graphic design and engineering services. It also develops an important editorial activity through publishing books and curating international architectural exhibitions and seminars.

They have been invited by universities and cultural institutions to talk about their projects and participated, as teachers, in several international project seminars.
