Born in Lisbon, in 1937, Dorindo attended the António Arroio School of Decorative Arts. Between 1964 and 1979 he attended the Sociedade Cooperativa de Gravadores Portugueses. He devoted himself to painting and obtained a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
He has worked in decoration, advertising and graphic arts as an illustrator. He developed an intense activity in the fields of advertising and publishing, creating covers for books and magazines, and holding positions of art director and production in several publishers. He collaborated as an illustrator in newspapers and magazines. He organized and taught drawing courses. He was part of the Organizing Committee for the Commemorations of Fernando Pessoa and was a founding member and director of the Instituto Português de Cultura in Caracas. He returned to Portugal in 1992 continuing with his activity as a painter and graphic designer.
Since 1963 he has held several collective and individual drawing and painting exhibitions in Portugal, Angola, Venezuela, Spain and Brazil. He was selected to integrate the "D Collection" of the National Press, a collection dedicated to Portuguese designers of several generations, with special attention to contemporary creators. He obtained several awards in Portugal, Angola and Venezuela. He is represented in Museums and in several private collections.
