VARIATIONS ON THE BODY
Dorindo de Carvalho (Lisbon, 1937) established himself in expressions as diverse as drawing, painting, animation, photography, scenography and engraving. After a long stay in Venezuela after traveling through Europe, he taught graphic design at the most important institutes in Caracas. He collaborated as an illustrator in dozens of newspapers and magazines and was notable for covers that contributed to the history of illustration in Portugal. In his painting, the shapes of the body, the inspiration behind his creation, have become more simplified following the purification of the lines as the lines progress. This is similar to what happens in these screen printing works where the talent and mastery of a lifetime dedicated to the art are clearly evident. Art.
