Ana Zanatti was born in Lisbon in 1949.
For 47 years she has worked as an actress in theatre, cinema and television and was simultaneously an RTP presenter for 26 years. Author and co-author of songs, radio and television programmes, documentaries and series, and translator of plays, she published her first novel in 2003. She has short stories and poems published in several anthologies and has collaborated with newspapers and magazines, from the now-extinct weekly SETE to the literary magazine Os meus livros, and the magazines Biosofia, Elle and Egoísta, among others.
She is dedicated to causes such as the Female Condition (in 1984 she was one of the 25 women chosen to represent Portugal in Brussels by the EEC Commission on the Female Condition), Defending LGBT Rights, Nature Conservation and Environmental Defence, Defending Human and Animal Rights. She received the Rede Ex Aequo Awards in 2009 and 2012 and the Rainbow Award in 2011.
