Álvaro Siza is one of the major architects of the 20th century and one of the names with which Portugal is associated worldwide, winner of the Pritzker Prize in 1992. In 1991, he was invited to design the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, which opened in 1999.

In 2019, he completed the architectural project for Casa do Cinema Manoel de Oliveira and, in 2021, the recovery and adaptation of Casa de Serralves.

His works can be found all over the world, from America to Asia, passing through countries such as Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Brazil, South Korea, the United States, among others.
