Tribute to Ballet

Having been a dancer in the company Bailados Portugueses Verde Gaio, from 1966 to 1980, the artist António Carmo pays tribute to ballet in a dedicated serigraph to António Casalinho, young prodigy of classical ballet who also signed the work.

The silkscreen was published in two color variants, at the artist's option, with each variant limited to 75 numbered and signed copies.

António Carmo has established himself throughout his plastic work, as one of the contemporary exponents of the lyrical tradition in Portugal. In his silkscreen tribute to ballet, he captures the essence of prodigious movements, symbols of the talent of the young Portuguese dancer.

António Carmo, Untitled (Tribute to Ballet), Screenprint 56 x 76 cm.
