Art Connects us (A Arte Liga-nos)

First post-confinement edition

In order to provide its social contribution, CPS, in the year of its 35th anniversary, determined that the first edition of screenprint produced in its Studio in the post-confinement, had a solidarity character and a collective symbolism, under the motto 'Art Connects us' (A Arte Liga-nos).

In this context, CPS invited nine prestigious artists - Cristina AtaídeGracinda CandeiasJosé de Guimarães, Leonel MouraMarçalPedro CalapezRico SequeiraSilva Palmeira e Sofia Areal - to develop a project in their period of individual confinement, to create a screenprint, intentionally collective, to offer to Hospitals and organizations engaged in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic and to establish a solidarity action with two institutions, the Food Bank and Cerci Oeiras.

The initiative received a note of greeting from the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

The work was presented at the National Library of Portugal (BNP) on June 29 and was attended by the Secretary of State for Culture Arq. Ângela Ferreira, the director of CPS and the participating artists.

The screenprint A Arte Liga-nos will be on display at BNP in an exhibition completed by an artwork by each author, until the 30th of August.

Creativity belongs to the artists - Solidarity is yours!
