Cruzeiro Seixas honored by CPS and Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa

On March 6, a tribute to Master Cruzeiro Seixas took place at the Main Gallery of CPS, which included the launch and presentation of the artist's Catalog of Graphic Works and Art Multiples, a work produced with the exclusive support of Caixa Geral de Depósitos.

The event was attended by the artist and the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, who chaired the ceremony.

The presentation of the book was in charge of Maria João Fernandes (AICA - International Association of Art Critics) and Tomás Paredes, President of the Spanish Association of Art Critics, who contextualized the artist's path and work.

The first Screenprint of Cruzeiro Seixas published by CPS dates from 1986, followed by many others, making him the most edited artist by the Center. The book highlights the editions of Graphic Work made by CPS and also includes all the works that were possible to gather from other editors. Other multiples of art were added, including albums, artist books and sculpture projects.

The book reproduces about 300 works and constitutes a precious reference, as a catalog, for understanding the universe of Cruzeiro Seixas, and simultaneously of the surrealist galaxy, of which, nationally and internationally, he is one of the most senior representatives.
