TIME AND MEMORY

João Alexandrino, known as JAS, was born in Porto in 1981, has been exhibiting since 2000 and has been developing his work at a national level and international, in the fields of installation, performance, video, painting, scenography and drawing. In addition to his individual projects, he signed several co-authorships with other artists, with video and real-time drawing being fundamental elements of his work.

His current silkscreen prints, which evoke the seasons, summer and spring, present us with the dilemma of the connection between time and memory, which do not always coincide. The present is It is seen in fragments of suggestive corporeality and plasticity, accentuated by black people, as an unfinished experience taking us at the same time to scattered memories that we have difficulty identifying, reflections of absences, incomplete records of presences that are they fade, but they remain.
