Mário Vitória
Born in 1983. During his academic career he carried out intermediate studies in Lyon (France), Bologna (Italy) and Sheffield (England). He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. Master from the same Faculty in Drawing Practices and Theories. É Master's degree also from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of Porto in the area of Visual Arts.
About your work has already been discussed. Several authors of Portuguese culture wrote, such as Boaventura de Sousa Santos, João Pinharanda, Bernardo Pinto de Almeida, Fernando António Baptista Pereira, Laura Castro, Gonçalo M Tavares, Ana Zanatti, José Luís Peixoto, Valter Hugo Mãe, Artur Cruzeiro Seixas, Manuel António Ribeiro and Ana Luísa Barão.
2017 – 2020 At the invitation of the Federation with the collaboration of the Committee; Olimpico e Paralympico de Portugal carries out the Institutional work for the celebration of Sport and Olympic Swimming at the 2020 Olympic Games in Japan.
2017-2019 Represents Portugal at the international exhibition “JCE – Young European Creators”.
In 2017, Ana Carmem Nascimento completed her PhD with the dissertation “A social study of images: Meanings and Pluridiversity in the work of Mário Vitória”, at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte , Brazil.
Regularly develops covers for books by Boaventura de Sousa Santos in collaboration with publishers in Spain, the United States, Portugal, Brazil and England.
In 2016, at the invitation of the Portuguese Swimming Federation, he carried out the institutional work “Olympic Spirit of Swimming” for the celebration of the FPN and its athletes at the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.
He presented his largest work (3x9m) at the 2012 European Capital of Culture. Exhibited at the Alberto Sampaio Museum in Guimarães, Paçdo dos Duques de Bragança, Sines Arts Center, Vila do Conde Memory Center and the Machado de Castro National Museum.
In 2010, he received an institutional commission for the portrait of Former President of the Republic Dr. Mário Soares. The work, measuring 2x4m, is on permanent exhibition in the city of Arcos de Valdevez, the city where the last tribute to the singer was held. life and work of the Politician.
