Ana Romãozinho
Ana Romãozinho was born in Lisbon in 1996. She has a degree (2018) and a master's degree (2021) in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon. She is currently a PhD student and researcher in Fine Arts, at the same institution, with the support of a grant from FCT. She exhibits regularly since 2015 and in 2018 she started to be represented by Módulo Gallery, in Lisbon. Her work focuses on themes such as play, language, writing, and how these can be expressed in the arts, whether through drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, photography or video.
In 2020, she was awarded both the "Millennium BCP Acquisition Prize", in the Millennium BCP Foundation Young Art Prize 2020, and the "New Talent Drawing Prize" by Viarco and the Drawing Room.
Among the various solo exhibitions, the following stand out: "Xis", at Módulo (2022); "Tipologia", at the Municipal Gallery of Casa Amarela, Castelo Branco (2021); "ludografia", at Módulo (2021); "O conto, o reconto e o narrável", at Módulo (2019); and "Coleção 23", at Espaço Cultural Mercês, Lisbon (2018). And among the collective ones, the following stand out: "Festa. Fury. Femina.", with cur. by António Pinto Ribeiro and Sandra Vieira Jürgens, at MAAT, Lisbon (2020); "Studiolo XXI: Desenho e Afinidades", with cur. by Maria de Fátima Lambert at Fundação Eugénio de Almeida, Évora, (2019); "Jet Lag", at Galeria Liminares, Lisbon (2019); and "3 27", at Centro Cultural de Cascais (2017).
She has already participated in the Feast on Paper Biennale, Shanghai (2021); in 3 editions of the Drawing Room Fair (Madrid: 2019 / Lisbon: 2020-2019), as well as in JustLx (2019).
She is part of several national and international collections such as: Col. Millennium bcp; Col. Fundação Carmona e Costa; Col. Fundação Luso-Americana para o Desenvolvimento; Col. MUTEX; Col. Câmara Municipal de Castelo Branco; Col. Fernando Figueiredo Ribeiro, Abrantes; and Col. Salvador Granizo, Madrid.
