The German Peter Klasen, exponent of international Pop, has been developing in his painting a universe that brings back to us the absurdity of our contemporary consumer society, dominated by the power of images emptied of content, a universe of forms mechanics that translates the bankruptcy of the values of the spirit and the loss of a link to the world of archetypes of which nature keeps the secret. With its signs, indicating impossible routes and warning of imminent dangers, a language in pieces is mixed, thus rendered indecipherable, which also points to the absence of meaning, of a original totality capable of involving man and his Cosmos in the same harmony. In these silkscreen works of particular beauty and poetic meaning, the artist reproduces everyday disenchantment in an accumulation devoid of meaning but still possessing a powerful seduction translated into the play of very vivid colors contrasting with the black of the signs. To this aspect so characteristic of Pop imagery is added another important particularity in Klasen's poetry, that of a sensuality full of dreamlike suggestions, introduced by the female figure.
