THE MAGIC OF CARNATIONS
Juan Sebastián Carnero (b.1981), Argentine artist of Galician descent, with an international career, awarded several times, researcher and professor of engraving, illustrator, former librista and designer, lives and works in Buenos Aires. With a degree in visual arts and extensive training in graphic arts, he has been exhibiting since 2001. Assuming that travel marks his work, he has maintained a dialogue with our country and with the CPS that This is reflected in its creation, namely in the editions it produced between 2020 and 2021, inspired by Lisbon. The relationship with the unconscious, with “other visual and sensory worlds”, music, poetry, are aspects that are reflected in a style that refuses formulas and values diversity. A style where detail and careful treatment of surfaces combine with a keen sense of perspective and color, sometimes in touches of great intensity that awaken its poetic potential. The current screen printing works are part of the celebrations of April 25th, with the image of the carnation associated with it, in an atmosphere of festive and timeless celebration.
