Argentine artist Juan Carnero (b. 1981), exponent of contemporary engraving and illustrator, enlightens us about essential aspects of his work carried out between Lisbon and Buenos Aires: “(…) I am nourished by everything that surrounds me in both places. two linocuts published today are very significant in terms of their aesthetics, rich in details and marked by a refined
sense of composition: Buenos Aires de Alfama, expressing the passion of the artist for the two cities and cultures that underlie it and Aljugar (2021) which, according to the author “in itself is a cultural heritage. a play on words and a tribute to those who know how to play with life (and value it),” taking inspiration from “the forms of this city (Lisbon) and other forms of the unconscious”.
