A COSMOLOGICAL VIEW

Cristina Ataíde (b.1951), sculptor, painter, designer and graphic artist who was born in Viseu and lives and works in Lisbon, exhibits regularly since 1984. Her work has included photography  ;and by video. Graduated in Sculpture from ESBAL, she specialized in Equipment Design. Director of Sculpture and Design production at “Madein”, Alenquer, from 1987 to 1996, worked with Anish Kapoor, Michelangelo Pistolleto, Keit Sonnier and Matt Mullican.

The present engraving work reveals his multidisciplinary training, which translates into the ability to express in images of great ethical power and intense chromatic and luminous vibration, a integrative cosmological vision of the Cosmos and Chaos, of order and disorder, in a synthesis that is simultaneously poetic and plastic.
