CARLOS KNORR: A SATIRE ON CONTEMPORARY SOCIETY

Carlos Knorrintegrates into the international trend of “street art” in connection with one of the most iconic movements of the 20th century, Pop Art, both directly related to mass culture and consumer society. The current work, a digital print with the title: “The sequel of the birth of Ronald MacDonald’s Son”, created in 2021 merges the evocation of a well-known academic painting, the “ Song of the Angels” by Adolphe Bouguereau(1825-1905), with contemporary elements. The religious figures in the painting by the well-known French painter are there. replaced by others related to the world of the clown Ronald McDonald, mascot of the American fast food chain "McDonald's". Characters from the cartoon join this universe of quotes, marked by humor, fantasy and nonsense. Another remarkable creation by the talented artist that leads us to reflect on the meaning and values of our contemporary society.
