"The Time of Images IV" (O Tempo das Imagens IV) is the fourth exhibition resulting from the protocol, formalized in 2014, which establishes the donation to the National Library of Portugal of a copy of the editions made by the artists at Centro Português de Serigrafia.

The exhibition will open in the gallery on the 1st floor of the National Library of Portugal, on the 14th of February, at 5 pm, and will remain open until the 6th of May.

According to the Director of the CPS, João Prates: “Of the approximately 600 editions already donated, those from the most recent years were selected, mostly since 2020, in a necessarily eclectic itinerary that is intended to be stimulating and surprising, covering 138 works, 87 authors from 22 nationalities.”

From the contemplated period, different partnership projects are presented, involving several authors. Impressions with artists and writers, Freeze Frame, for the 20th anniversary of the Monstra Animation Festival, Mulheres Saramaguianas ("Saramago's Women"), on the centenary of Saramago, and Incluir ("Include"), with outsider artists.

The exhibition takes you through four nuclei established by the different editorial partnership projects and by the formal characteristics of the works: UNIVERSALITY, affirming the universal design of art through the different origins of the edited artists; PROXIMITY, suggesting an approximation to the works due to their detail; DIVERSITY, containing visually differentiating works in the context of graphic work, and, finally, HUMANITY, a tribute to the Master engraver Humberto Marçal, coordinator of CPS engraving and lithography editions for over 30 years.

Among the 87 authors on display, works by Graça Morais, José de Guimarães, Manuel João Vieira, Miguel Januário, Alfredo Luz, Valter Hugo Mãe, Mário Vitória, Francisco Vidal, among many others, can be appreciated.
