Specializing in engraving, Saskia Moro was born in London in 1967 and graduated from the Complutense University of Madrid, having created a studio in 1989 in collaboration with the artist Elena Jiménez. Holding a scholarship from the prestigious Pilar and Joan Miró Foundation, she has held individual exhibitions of painting, engraving and objects, under the sign of time and its metaphors, water and silence. Your work is represented in several museums and institutions in Spain, Holland and Portugal, namely at the National Calcography of Madrid, at the Pilar Foundation and Joan Miró of Mallorca, at the La Caja Foundation in Madrid and at the Instituto Cervantes in Lisbon. According to Maria João Fernandes, from the International Association of Art Critics: “Time, space and the silence that guides her rhythms have inspired the artist who in 2003 underwent a geometric expression in superb games of light with veils. In the current exhibition of engravings that preserve the freshness of an original, he explores, in a very free way, the poetic spatialism that has become the hallmark of his style. Soft contrasts of colors that awaken resonances of the various elements of nature, transparencies, are associated here with the maritime space of sand and salt that gives rise to the atmosphere. the title is show. Anomic, dreamlike and cosmic landscaping that fully reveals the artist's passion for color and her mastery in her domain. Mastery of color, of its light, of its fluids in palpitating jets of gold entangled in the subtle tangle of emerald blues, underwater greens, ochres, grays and lilacs that seem to spring directly from the intimacy of an enchanted nature . Saskia Moro offers us in this recent and magnificent set of engravings, images of sand, water and light, imbued with a sweetness and softness that appear to us in her expression of a virginal cosmic purity, like the very breath of poetry.” É A special edition of screen printing and engraving will also be presented, created by the artist to celebrate the exhibition and dedicated to the Members and new Members of the Centro Português de Seriografia.
