Rui Azevedo

Rui de Azevedo was born in 1941, in Lisbon. He studied in France between 1960 and 1964. At the age of 9, he obtained an honorable mention in an art competition promoted by a large food multinational Switzerland. The versatility and diversity of his work are remarkable, distinguished by the extraordinary use of color, multiplicity of materials, innovative treatments and vast production, which involves tactical themes They are varied, such as land and sea landscapes, portraits, industrial architecture and surrealist themes. Throughout his career, he exhibited in several renowned galleries, including Galeria de S. Mamede, where he exhibited his work in 1978, 1983 and 1986.

His works are represented at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Museum, in Lisbon.

He passed away in 2000.
