Mónica Romãozinho

Mónica Romãozinho was born in Lisbon. He graduated in Architecture (1999), from the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University of Lisbon. Teaches at the Higher School of Applied Arts of the Castelo Branco Polytechnic Institute. PhD in Design (2013, FA-UTL) and Master in Design (2007, FA-UTL). Is part of the research group Rethink (Research Group on Design for the Territory).

With international articles published focusing on Contemporary Jewelry, Design History, Interior Design, Drawing and Scenography.

We highlight recent exhibitions by the artist: Solo exhibition “Possible but unlikely spaces: From imagined space to space. materialized jewel”, Factory of Creativity, 19-28 July 2019; Collective Design Exhibition in Sogn og Fjordane, Norway, August 2017; Solo exhibition of the jewelry collection ““As Flores de Josefa”, Museu Municipal de Óbidos, May-July 2017. Artist selected to participate in the Cerveira International Art Biennial, two pieces ;jewelry items from the “Playfulspaces” collection, August-September 2020.

Develops research in the area of Jewelery within the CIAUD (FAUL Research Center for Architecture, Urbanism and Design) within the scope of a post-graduate project PhD entitled “Possible but unlikely spaces: Design of a jewelry line”.
