Liberto Molina Bernabeu was born in Spain, on February 10, 1926. He lived in different places in Europe and America. He began his studies in Drawing and Painting in S. Carlos de Valencia, but it was in Brazil that the great challenge began: Painting. There He studies Fine Arts and wins praise from critics who point him out as a versatile painter.

In 1967 he decided to return to the country. Europe, Shortly after arriving in Barcelona, Molina received an offer to work in Lisbon and didn't think twice, having settled in Portugal since then. 

Molina is divided between the beauty of Portuguese architecture, evident in the figurative elements, and the inner need to explore the abstract. In the 60s he settled in Portugal. His side as a figurative painter becomes more striking due to his love for the Portuguese lands. Acclaimed by art critics who called the strong blue sky of his paintings “Molina blue”.

In 1995, he was awarded the Municipal Medal of Merit from the Municipal Council of Loures.

In 1996 he donated five tile panels, to be installed in a public garden in Lousa, in the municipality of Loures. The panels still grace this public place today.

In 2000 he decided to breathe new life into the business. His work as an abstract painter and break with the exclusive image of the architectural figurative. Little known to the general public, this was reserved for collectors.

He held numerous exhibitions in Portugal and would become famous in this country, although his paintings were sold to many foreigners who visited Portugal and saw in his paintings of Portuguese houses, a This is a way to take a little of the Portuguese soul to their countries. His works are mainly spread across Portugal, Brazil and Spain, although he also has works in collections in other countries, namely Chile and England.

He passed away on August 5, 2002.
