Born in Matosinhos, on May 7, 1956. He completed the special cycle in Plastic Arts at ESBAP in 1981. Between 1982 and 1997, he was also a professor of Higher Education, in the Superior Drawing Course and was President from the Board of the Porto Higher Artistic Education Cooperative – CESAP, from January 1991 to February 1997 (two terms). Since 1989 until 2008, he held the position of Vice-President of the Board of the Cooperative Tree of Artistic Activities, CRL, having been its director as a member of the Board. He also holds the position of Director of the Ceramics, Photography, Engraving, Lithography and Screen Printing Workshops at ÁRVORE.
