Isabel Laginhas

Born in Lisbon in 1942. She graduated in Painting from the Escola de Artes Decorativas António Arroio and the Escola de Belas Artes de Lisboa. He also attended the Course  Study of Color, organized by I.N.I., and was a drawing teacher at Escola Francisco Arruda and tapestry at Escola de Artes Decorativas António Arroio. Between 1974 and 1977 he belonged to the Ethical Commission for Spectacles. Within the scope of research into modern tapestry, it is necessary to which she has dedicated herself to since 1970, she received a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in 1976, 1977, 1982 and 1991. Throughout her artistic career, she received several awards and held several exhibitions. in Portugal and abroad. He illustrated several children's books, poetry and stories and designed costumes for the theater. His works evolved from a neofigurative bent to geometric abstractionism over time. He passed away in August 2018, aged 76.
