CPS celebrates Fernando Lanhas' Centenary

Celebrate with the CPS the centenary of Fernando Lanhas (September, 1923-2012), one of the most iconic Portuguese artists of the 20th century, precursor of geometric abstractionism in Portugal.

Born in 1923, Fernando Lanhas left an impressive artistic legacy that continues to inspire generations of artists and collectors.
Natural in Porto, where he grew up and studied architecture at the School of Fine Arts, was the precursor of Geometric Abstraction in Portugal. In addition to architecture and painting, he dedicated himself intensely to areas as diverse as geology, archaeology, museology and astronomy. 

Fernando Lanhas passed away in 2012 and his work continues to be celebrated and studied. His contribution to Portuguese art is It is undeniable and its influence echoes through time and our culture.
