Each artist and writer duo corresponds to a female character from the Saramaguian universe, those who, according to Fernando Gómez Aguilera, could be understood “as shining incarnations of the best of the human condition”. Of the countless characters created by Joséé Saramago, the selection focused on BlimundaJoana Carda, Gracinda Mau-Tempo, Maria Sara, death and wife of doctor.
