Critical notes
CITY EVASIONS Mónica de Miranda, born in 1976 in Amarante, lives and works between Lisbon and London, having already worked in Lisbon. He developed several public art projects and performances, with an international dimension, based on themes that reflect his interest in contemporary issues, such as globalization and cultural miscegenation. Using various means of expression, video, photography, sound, sculpture and installation, the artist has been reflecting on lines of force in today's society, where the trend stands out. The concept is essential to the current forms of interaction between the social and the cultural, capable of creating new transnational borders, “new geographies” It is the title of a traveling exhibition started in London. In these screen prints we see a portrait of migration from the city to the countryside, a form of evasion that the plane highlights.
