Guillermo Velez (1955-2016) Colombian artist, held individual and collective exhibitions, since 1977, all over the world, namely in Colombia, Brazil, Peru, Portugal , Costa Rica, Poland, Belgium, Germany, Cuba, Korea, Ireland, Yugoslavia, Puerto Rico, United States, Spain, Japan, Chile, Italy and Norway. Received several awards: 1981 and 1983 - Prize at the VI and VIII Salón de Artistas del Viejo Caldas, Manizales, Colombia; 1981 - Prize at the 1st Salon of Artists in the West, Armenia; 1984 - Jury Prize, VII Norwegian Biennial, Fredrikstad, Norway; 1990 - Intergrafik Triennial Prize, Berlin, Germany. He was a passionate Pessoan and lived in Portugal for seven years. There was a Center for Pataphysic, the science of imaginary solutions, in Armenia, Colombia. He developed a very significant set of editions for the Portuguese Screen Printing Center, with vigorous chromaticism. Thousands of faces populate his work, some deformed, affirming multiplicity in the humanist ethics of existing. He passed away in 2016 in his home country.
