Catarina Castro Freire studied art in England between 1972 and 1981, in Oxford, Sheffield and London.
She has exhibited individually since the 1980s, in Portugal and London, namely: Anglo – Portuguese Society, London, United Kingdom (1984); in Diário de Noticias Gallery, Lisbon (1984); in the Portuguese Tourist Office, London, United Kingdom (1984); in Galeria Novo Século, Lisbon (1986); and Portuguese Tourist Office – London (1986); in Teatro Municipal, Madeira (1988); in Galeria Moira, Lisbon (1990); in Galeria Novo Século, Lisbon (1995); in Quinta Patino, Estoril (2000); in “Lag” Gallery, Lisbon (2003), among others.
She has participated in several group exhibitions since 1980 in London, New York, Canada and Lisbon.
Her work is represented in important public and private collections, among which we highlight: Grupo Espírito Santo, Petrogal, TAP, Instituto Franco Português, and Teatro Municipal da Madeira.
