Born in 1944 in Peso da Régua, Armanda Passos graduated in Plastic Arts at the Escola Superior de Belas Artes do Porto and, between 1977 and 1979, she was a tutor of Engraving Technology at the same school.
She was a member of the "Print Artists Series" and participated in several individual and collective exhibitions in countries such as Spain, Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland, England, Luxembourg, Italy, Turkey and the USA. In the year 1984 she obtained the 2nd Prize in the exhibition of homage to Almada Negreiros and, in 2012, she was decorated with the Order of Merit - Comendador, a title awarded by the Presidency of the Republic (10 June).
Her work is present in public and private collections and her work is admired both in Portugal and abroad.
In May 2021, the Douro Museum opened a space dedicated to her art, exhibiting 83 pieces donated by the artist. Armanda Passos passed away in October of the same year.
