Born in Porto in 1948 Dalila D'Alte has a degree in Visual Arts (Painting) and a PhD in Art Sciences from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon. She received a scholarship from the Gulbenkian Foundation and collaborated with the Centro Artístico Infantil at the same institution.
She is the author of the book “A Infância da Arte, a Arte da Infância” and has written several articles and communications on Art and Education and Children's Art. She was also awarded a scholarship for the Sound Creation and Animation Film Internship at the Center Culturel Damians, in France, and she supervised Visual Arts workshops (theory and practice) for children, young people and adults, at the Gulbenkian Foundation (CAI), at the Centro Cultural de Belém, at Serralves Foundation, Porto and in Osnabrück, Germany.
She is a collaborator in the Centers for Artistic Education / PhDs at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon. As a visual artist, she has been exhibiting since 1978 and is represented in private and public collections, namely in the Cruzeiro Seixas Collection, Center for Surrealism Studies/Cupertino de Miranda Foundation, as well as in the Collection of the Museum of the Biennial of Vila Nova de Cerveira.
