Critical notes
A NEW VISION OF THE SACRED Master of dry point, teacher of drawing, engraving and painting, José Faria deserved it. Spanish art critic Lourdes Jiménez, curator of the exhibition marking the 26th anniversary of his graphic work, in 2007, in Malaga, the following words: “I would like to render a sense of homage to admiration for his recorded work, for his incomparable dry points, and his figurative poetry (…)” A figuration that in this case focuses on a non-traditional image of the sacred and that evokes the drama and human dimension of sacrifice in a descent from the cross to which black and white give an aura of solemnity and mystery. They are very particular and typical of the artist's universe.
