Born in Lisbon in 1940. He attended high school and António Arroio School. He studied drawing and painting with the painter and sculptor Joaquim Gomes Baptista, an artist from the Porto School. His painting is a superlative affirmation of his inner truth. In this way, we come across an intrinsic lyricism in these redemptive landscapes, which after all, are nothing more than portraits of his own soul. Holder of solid plastic mastery, Ferreira da Silva uses a fine thematic and chromatic purification. With a sober, harmonious tonal palette with great aestheticizing power, the artist wisely explores shadow and light.
