Patrícia Portela

Author of performances, installations and literary works. É degree in RPE from ESTC, a masters of arts from U.Utrecht and Central St Martins College of Art in London and a master's degree in philosophy from the International Institute of the University of Leuven, and a postgraduate degree in theatricality and performativity by APT; in Antwerp, and an internship at the European Film College of Cinema in Ebeltoft, Denmark. Between 1994 and 2002 she worked mainly as a costume designer and/or set designer for independent theater companies and with some film directors in Portugal (of which Miguel Gomes stands out), receiving the 94th Revelation Award from the Associaçã that of Theater Critics for his multiple work. She was one of the founders of the group O Resto in 1996 and the Prado Cultural Association in 2003,
É She is recognized nationally and internationally for the peculiarity of her work, and has received several awards for it (finalist for the Sonae/MNACC Prize, Parasomnia, 2015, finalist for the APE Prize, Banquete, 2012, Madalena Azeredo Prize for Perdigão/FCG, Flatland I, 2005, Teatro na Decada Award, Wasteband 2003, Theater Critics Revelation Award, 1998). Participated in the 46th International Writers Program in Iowa City in 2013 (where Nobel Prize winners Orhan Pamuk and Mo Yan were) and was the first Outreach Fellow at Iowa City University, and the first Berlin literary fellow from the Portuguese Embassy in Germany in 2016 . columnist for Jornal de Letras since 2017 and professor at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema.
