Miguel Yeco

Born in Lisbon, in 1945. He began his artistic activity in the area of graphic arts, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1965. He received a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in 1969 and 1978, in Paris where he lived until 1978. 1981. On this date he also began working in the area of performance (installations, interventions and shows), in a first phase with the group LAILA (1973/76), formed by former -members of Robert Wilson's group and, later, "solo" or with groups under his direction (MAIMA MILES GROUP).

He returned to Portugal in 1981 to start the project "PESSOAS (e echoes)", inspired by the figure and work of Fernando Pessoa. In this context he carried out interventions/performances/shows, both in private and private spaces. urban spaces as well as in theatrical spaces and others. At the Serralves Foundation and the Soares dos Reis Museum, he performed several notable performances in 1988.

In 2006, as part of the exhibition “Calligraphies”, he staged another exceptional performance with the theme of the birth of writing (calligraphy). He even carried out to He has held several solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group shows.
