Born in 1968, in Trofa, where he lives and works.

É degree in Fine Arts – Painting, from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Porto and completed a Masters in Painting, at the same Faculty.

He was a Visual Arts teacher and illustrated several children's literature books.

It is represented in “NY Arts Annual Catalog 2009” and in “NY Arts -Top Websites 2010” magazine, New York. In August 2012, his work was highlighted in the weekly section of curator Chenoa Solis, from Saatchi Online, London.

In September 2012 he represented Portugal in the 10th; International Artistic Symposium, in Saarbrucken, Germany and very recently, the Municipality of Trofa awarded him the Medal of Cultural Merit 2012.

He has received several painting awards: Silver Award given by the virtual gallery ArtMageur.com, 2010; 1º Award, ‘Body in Expression’, Espaço SERVARTES, Porto, 2007; Honorable Mention in “Shankar’s International Children’s Competition”, New Delhi, India, 1983, among others.

His work has been exhibited in several individual and group exhibitions, in Portugal and abroad; some examples: "Martinho Dias - painting", Galeria João Pedro Rodrigues, Porto, 2013; Collective, MiTo Gallery, Warsaw, Poland, 2012; “IN PERSONA: 10º International Artistic Symposium”, Saarbrücken, Germany, 2012; “Global Village’2012 – an exhibition IRL”, traveling collective project: Projekt 072, Alkmaar, Netherlands; Château de Sully, Burgundy, France; Kulturhuset Brønden, Copenhagen, Denmark.
