Manuel D'Olivares

Born in Angola. He currently lives and works between Barcelona, Paris and Lisbon.

He took the Civil Engineering Course at Instituto Superior Técnico and studied painting at the National Society of Fine Arts, taking subjects such as Drawing and Themes of Aesthetics and Contemporary Art.

From 2003 to 2006 he was in charge of managing Galeria Abraço in Lisbon. He has exhibited individually and collectively since 1999 in Portugal, France and Spain. Some exhibitions stand out: 2011, INDIVIDUAL - “Fingerprints of Cities” – Simultaneously at Casa Roque Gameiro, Amadora and at Palacio D. Manuel, Évora; 2010,INDIVIDUAL – “Weather for Piano – duplicity and complicity” (music and painting project) – Institut Franco-Portugais, Lisbon; 2010, INDIVIDUAL - “presentation de nouvelles oeuvres“ JN Art Gallery, Paris; 2010, Illustration of the Book “Tomás Borba” – Edition of the Presidency of the Regional Government of the Azores; 2010, Summer Collective – Kalós Gallery. Barcelona; 2010, Urban Intervention - “TELL Project” – Porto Metro Stations, Dragons and Combatants – Harbor; 2009, INDIVIDUAL – “Retalls de Ciutat” – Kalós Gallery, Barcelona; 2009, INDIVIDUAL – “Weather for Piano – duplicity and complicity” - Multipurpose Room of Res. A.G. of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Paris, organized by the Camões Institute of Paris. In Brazil he exhibited at the “XII International Postal Art Exhibition” from the Municipality of Santo André; and, in Italy, at the Babele Gallery in Milan with the exhibition entitled “Leggere Pagine”. He was distinguished, in the various participations he made in the Nazaré with the work “I’ve Been Here” – screen printing with collage and intervention with stencil.
