Born in Lisbon in 1941. He studied painting at SNBA, painting and design at ESBAL, engraving at the Cooperativa de Gravadores Portugueses and design at IADE (1958/81). He directed screen printing courses at IADE (1973) and Plastic Arts courses at Viragem (Cascais Fine Arts Association (1988/91). He received a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Engraving (1968). ), which edited some of his works. He was awarded: 1st. O.G.M.A. Painting Prize (1964); Honorable Mention from the Luísa Todi Academy (1965); Silver Medal from the Costa do Sol Tourism Board (1967); Manuel Filipe da Viragem Award (1989) and Salão Convívio Award from the National Society of Fine Arts (1997).
