Malia Poppe was born in Lisbon in 1952. He lived in numerous places, but returned to Sintra, where he was educated. With his father's death at the age of thirteen, he had to change schools so his mother could bear the burden. He lived in Brazil and returned to Portugal without ever working closely with the arts . One day, one of the nephews proposed going to children's day at Ar.Co. He liked it so much that he decided to sign up.
In 2011, at the invitation of the Portuguese Screen Printing Center, he produced an engraving, which is now published. exhibited at Galeria Robotarium, LxFactory, Lisbon.
His first solo exhibition, Somos, took place in 2013, at the Manteigaria space, Lisbon.
He also participated in the collective exhibition Campo, at Manteigaria space, Lisbon.
In 2016, he designed the cover for the book Chiaroscuro, by Catarina Costa, published by Douda Correria. In the same year he took part in the collective exhibition PAISAGENS, alongside artists such as Abel Manta, Carlos Botelho, Sá Nogueira and Nikias Skapinakis, Cruz-Filipe, João Hogan, Nadir Afonso and Jorge Martins.
Currently, he walks in the countryside and draws every day, in Sintra, the city where he lives.
